Our Products

All our products are hand made in solid oak. Due to the nature of the product there will be small variations in the colour and size. To minimise waste we judge each piece of wood individually and therefore the sizes can vary and sometimes be slightly larger or smaller than stated.

The Doorstop and Bootroom base are made of 'green oak', the same grade that is used to build timber framed buildings. Green oak is not completely seasoned, and therefore splits will occur, which adds to the character of the piece. This is similar to that of the ageing process of oak beams and is part of the woods natural beauty. It should not affect the function of the products, and the handles will stay secure.

All other products are made in air-dried or kiln dried oak certified from a sustainable source. It will not split at all, but the wood can weather and change depending how you use and care for it.

Products for inside have been treated with Danish Oil, and those for outside with Teak Oil. These oils are readily available from DIY shops. We recommend that you reapply some oil on a regular basis if you wish to keep it looking like it does today. If you don't treat our outside products any further they will eventually go that characteristic silvery oak colour.

For our carving/bread/cheeseboards we recommend treating them regularly with a food safe oil. We sell a White Mineral Oil, also known as Butcher block oil, which will keep them looking wonderful for years to come. You can however use any food safe oil, and these are also available from DIY shops.

The rope we use is Manila. As it is a natural material it will shrink slightly when it gets wet. Please allow for this when hanging a swing. It should give you fun for many years, but it is your responsibility to always make sure a swing is safe to use.

Please get in touch if you have any questions.

Kind Regards,
